Dr ManuAroha Walker (BDS, BHSci)
Dentist/Owner
ManuAroha was born and raised in Invercargill and is a true blue Southlander. She went to Te Kōhanga Reo o Ngā Hau e Whā Rockdale Park Primary, then Tweedsmuir Intermediate and Southland Girls High School.
Graduating initially in Dental Therapy she returned to undertake Dentistry and graduated in 2009. Upon graduation she followed the sunshine to Australia and undertook a variety of dental experiences from high end dental practices to outback dentistry in the Northern Territory.
Mother of four, she felt it was time to come home with husband Jason to raise their children around family and friends they had missed so dearly.
Her special interests are oral surgery, community dentistry and creating a beautiful smile.
Dr Emma Naera ( BDS)
Dentist
Emma Ritchie graduated from the University of Otago in 2007 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Credit. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and finds it to be an exciting and rewarding profession. She finds the greatest job satisfaction is getting people out of dental pain and prides herself at being gentle and being able to put patients at ease.
Emma, her husband and three young children moved to Invercargill four years ago and have enjoyed exploring this beautiful part of New Zealand.
Bomi Aum
Dentist
Bomi is a friendly young dentist who graduated from the University of Otago in 2020 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with First Class Honours. She has worked at the Dunedin Hospital as a Dental House Surgeon for a year before joining the team.
Bomi loves seeing patients of all walks of life. In particular, it rewards her to see her anxious patients’ confidence grow with each appointment; She often puts patients to sleep with her gentle hands!
Outside of work, she accompanies her partner in his fishing adventures, but mainly likes to stay indoors enjoying good food and movies.
Georgie
Dental Hygienist/Dental Therapist
Georgie is a born and bred Cantabrian but do not hold that against her. She has worked in the dental industry for over 13 years in a range of positions and practices. From cosmetic dentistry to mobile rural health.
She completed her Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Otago in 2014. She is both a Dental Hygienist and a Dental Therapist. After completing her degree, Georgie spent time working in Dunedin before moving to Western Australia to work in rural communities. She has a passion for preventative dentistry and enjoys helping you to maintain a healthy smile.
Georgie returned to New Zealand then joined our team in April 2020. Outside of work Georgie enjoys an active lifestyle, helping on their farm, skiing, and sky diving.
Annette
Office Administrator
Annette is our Office Administrator and the friendly face who greets you when you arrive at the surgery. Starting in Orthodontics after finishing school. Annette has had 30 years’ experience in Dental and is able to offer helpful advice when needed. She has worked clinically as well as in the administrative side of a practice.
Away from work Annette enjoys gardening, good food, movies, reading, great walks and most of all spending time with her family, grandchildren and catching up with friends.
Vicki
Dental Assistant
Vicki is a full time Dental Assistant and has worked at Remarkable Smile since Emma bought the practice four years ago. Vicki really enjoys being part of this friendly and professional team. She enjoys all aspects of the position as well as helping patients feel at ease in a sometimes stressful environment.
When not working, Vicki is a mum to two sporty boys who keep her busy.
Taylah
Dental Assistant
Taylah started working as a Dental Assistant three years ago and absolutely loves working in the Dental Industry. Previously she worked as a Hairdresser for five years. She feels that she has found her passion at Remarkable Smile. Taylah is very bubbly and loves to have a laugh and chat with patients.
